I started working with Peter in July of 2020 at the height of the pandemic, and around that same time became obsessed with learning  tennis.

I am a professional musician, entrepreneur and business owner.  I have never participated or been interested in competitive sports or working out in a gym environment.  But the pandemic’s lockdown, gave me the time and curiosity to explore tennis and working out.

Peter was recommended to me by my tennis coach.  I came to Peter with several issues including hip tightness/weakness (due to sitting for long periods/inactivity, overstretching and lack of strength in my new tennis endeavor), neck and shoulder pain (due to my profession as a musician and years of repetitive motion), and tennis elbow (due to my new obsession with tennis).

My first session with Peter was an overall fitness assessment.  What a reality check that was!

I was in terrible shape.  Little to no ability to do push-ups, pull ups, burpees, planks, and running was an embarrassment (I had never been taught to run properly).

That first assessment and Peter’s encouragement gave me hope.  He didn’t make me feel that I was too old (46 at the time) or that what I wanted (to feel and look good) would be impossible.  In my dreams I had always wanted an athletic body and Peter encouraged that dream.

I have always been a very focused person with very big goals and love to work hard in whatever I do.  Peter saw this in me and knew instantly how to approach my training.  In the few years I have been with him, I have witnessed him train a few of my friends and his other clients, and can say without a shadow of a doubt, that one of Peter’s strongest assets is to recognize a clients goals/weaknesses and create a personalized program that is not impossible to obtain.

Peter’s initial program was to just get me to a basic fitness level.  I was seeing him 3-5 times per week.  It was a tough battle (like teaching an old dog new tricks) to learn new movements and gain strength and stamina while learning tennis with my other coach.

But within 6 months, I had surpassed many of my own goals.  I was doing 60-80 pushups, intense cardio workouts with sprints and burpees, core workouts and gaining a lot of muscle through weight training.  The first thing I noticed was that my neck and shoulders were no longer in pain.  They were getting strong and no longer atrophied.

The next step now that I had my baseline fitness level established was for Peter to create a program that integrated my love for tennis and competition while continuing to build my strength and athleticism.  I am proud to say that even though I am currently a beginner/intermediate level in tennis, I’m well along the way in my overall fitness.  The debilitating aches and pains that used limit me have transformed into aches and pains due to growth, rebuilding and reaching new levels.

  • I never thought that my hip, leg and foot pain would ever go away.   I no longer have any of those pains.

  • I never thought I would look and feel so athletic.  My body has transformed so much that buying clothes is a new experience and sometimes I look in the mirror, and can’t believe some of the changes in my body.

Peter is a major part in the next chapter of my life and I can’t wait to see how it all plays out.

Peter’s knowledge of sports training, fitness, mental health, kinesiology and injury rehabilitation is unmatched.  His natural ability to empathize allows Peter to create a flawless and obtainable program.  All you have to do is trust him, trust yourself and put in the hard work and you will not be disappointed.
